Malaysia declaring endamic phase of Covid 19.

As Malaysian we will never forget 18th March 2020, a day when the whole country were under lock down due to Covid-19. After 2 years, on 1st May 2022, Malaysia is declaring an endemic phase and the new norms that we have lead during the past 2 years is now a history.

Starting with MYsejahtera app,which is a MUST app and has been part of our Malaysians life is not put to rest. We do not need to scan to enter any premises anymore. Then, after 2 years, we are not able to shake hands and to be physically touched, a norm that has disappeared in the past 2 years.

The girls has been complaining that they don’t really know how their friends look like may have the change to get to know them again when mask is not necessary for outdoor activities, dining or during presentations.

The changes makes us sentimental as we have gone through a lot these 2 years - from online classes to online purchase, sacrificing our activities and business for the safety of all. For some it is also the loss of the loved ones to Covid -19 in order to us to enjoy the freedom we are getting on 1st May 2022. This is too previous to us and I urge that we should value what we have gone through and be responsible individual. If we are sick, do wear a mask or stay home. It’s not easy to get the freedom today.

Back to school - I'm now Standard 5 by Zandra Kwah

                I was so excited to go to school. I haven't been to school for nearly a year because of Covid-19. I woke up at 6am. The house was quiet as no one was awake. I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth but I accidentally woke up popo.

               As I got ready, my mother woke up. At about 7am, we drove to school. Once we reached the gate of SJK(C) Lai Meng, I saw Mickey Mouse. To my surprise, Mickey Mouse gave me a heart-shaped lollipop. 

             Once I reached my classroom, I was bored so I took out my "Nancy Drew" that I borrowed from my Ka Jie. Once the class teacher arrived in 5B, the teacher arranged our table. I can tell that my classmates are really excited. 

             At 10:30am, is our break time. We watch "Mr. Bean" while eating. It was really funny even though I felt kinda naive. After school, I was exhausted but I have to take a shower first. I hope that  tomorrow I will have another fun day.

My First Covid-19 Vaccine by Zandra Kwah

                 I had my first vaccine a few weeks ago. But unlike my sister, I wasn't scared or nervous at all. Not only that, my sister even told me that she had to go with her friend, Xuan because unfortunately parents were not allowed in. That didn't really help me at all.

                Once we arrived at our destination, we had to wait there for what felt like forever. I was starting to get bored so I took out my phone and began to play 'Class Rush'. About half an hour later, a guy with a mask passed out some candies and water. My mother and I waited patiently for another 30 minutes. Finally, it was our turn. I decided to look at the needle. After my shot, my hand was a little numb. 

                On the way home, we took a picture. My dad even bought us lunch to eat. I was very hungry. When we arrived home, Ka Jie kept on asking me questions. Like, "Did it hurt?", "Is it painful?" I was kinda annoyed. Mom said that my next vaccine is on the 1st of April. I am so excited. 

Chinese New Year Eve 2022 by Zandra Kwah

 Chinese New Year's Eve

My sister and I woke up early as it is Chinese New Year's Eve! I was extremely excited. When we were driving, I was so confused because I didn't know where I was going. After we reach our destination, we took a picture under the hot sun. 

After that, we were in the parking lot waiting for someone. Then, I saw Tong Tong and her mother. Her mother gave Tong Tong the key and she brought us up to the apartment. The house was very spacious and nice. We played card games for a while until Xin Lei and Xin Yu came. Since Eujin doesn't know how to play card games, we played Uno instead.

After we ate, we got bored and decided to go downstairs while Eujin go swimming. Chen Chen and his little brother don't want to go. We walked past the swimming pool. We really wanted to swim but we didn't bring our swimsuits. So, we four girls chit chat while Tong Tong showed us the way. She said there was a garden but when we arrived there, it was too small to play catch. So, we just play in the playground and took some photos. 

After that, we found a basketball court. It was very spacious and we thought it was the perfect place to play catch. We explore the place by going up and down the stairs until we were out of breath. We played catch for a while and even ask the three boys who were staring at us to come and join us. Even though they declined, they still stared at us. 

After a while, we switched the game to Pepsi-Cola 123. Then, we played red light green light. Unfortunately, XinYu hurt her leg. So, we decided to rest for a bit. I took out my phone and saw that I have missed my mother's phone call. I immediately called back and she asked us when will we come back. We c]said we were going back soon. When we walk back, we saw the three boys eating chocolate cake and I could see that my sister wanted that cake. 

After we crossed the road, we saw the three boys stalking us. Xin Lei immediately took out her knife (which I should have brought) to threaten them. Luckily, they were scared and ran away. But before that, they kindly waved at us and said goodbye. When we saw that Eujin's father left us all by ourselves, we were kinda frustrated. At about 4:00pm, it started raining and we had to go home. I hope that next year will also be an exciting year.
