New Environment, New Chapter for Mom!

Nov 2013, I made one of the big decision to quit my corporate job to give priority to Zoe and Zandra. This means leaving a good salary / benefits and the freedom in life. It has been the most difficult time making this decision as there's no turning back.

The rational of the decision is because Zandra is having a difficult time with the babysitter where for the last 2 months, she has been spending most of her time in the cot! Zandra was reluctant to get out from the cot and we do agree that we need to remove her from the babysitter and that's brought me to make such a big decision.

Zandra make good progress in reaching out to people despite staying in her cot at the babysitter's. Since she left the babysitter, she has not been asking for her cot and has reach out to strangers in the first month since we got her back from the baby sitter.

Since I'm helping my Aunty to manage her pre-school, I decided to tag along both Zoe (6 years) and enrol Zandra for her toddler class. Zoe is managing her emotion well despite a new environment and Zandra was crying for me in the first 2 weeks. It's not easy for the three of us. I have not worked with so many children in my life have to learn how to communicate with kids rather than adults, the children on new environment.

Now, after 3 months, I have learnt to relax and take things step by step. As for Zoe, she has learnt to be more independent as 'Teacher Mummy' has to work while she study. Zandra, was the angel that really change a lot from a isolation baby to a little girl that the teachers loved to work with her. She has become responsive and independent which is beyond my expectation. Every morning, she insist to climb the stairs by herself and rather to go to the assembly with Zoe rather than Mummy bringing her in.

Looking at Zandra's progress I have no regrets in letting go a good career and hopefully I can continue to nurture the girls until they are more mature.

Hibernating @ Home

Since the girls and I are down with flu, we decided to hibernate at home. While hubby is cooking in the kitchen, I was tidying the living with the girls (though I felt that I'm the only one who is working).

After some light lunch for the girls, hubby put Zandra to nap while I handle Zoe. Good rest girl.. Sleep well and don't wake up until it is time, Daddy and Mummy need to sleep too!

Sleep tight.

My angel sleeping soundly~

Zandra improving her Vocabulary

It has been a few days that I have come home late, thus Zandra was asleep before I reached home. Today, as I brought her to clinic due to diarrhoea, she's showing off her new vocabulary - 'wet' , 'where' , 'fish'. I'm so proud of the little girl.

Just now, when I gave her the midnight feed,  Zandra was reluctant to drink water suspecting I was giving her the  dehydration salt but after I told her "Mummy promised it's just water", she take on the water. It seems that Zandra does understand what we're talking about.

Hope to hear more from my Zandra ~

Dy-Dy 'Where are you?"

After a bad jam,I finally reached home and to my surprised Zandra is still mingling around and have not sleep.

Then I realized that hubs is not back yet and mum complained that little Zandra would not sleep and throwing tantrums looking for Dy-dy (Daddy).

Hmm..have decided to cone home early tomorrow so that Zandra could loom for Mummy instead.

Finally, Zandra is feeding herself

It is always challenging during meal times outside. Is either we'll have a wailing baby Zandra together with a hungry Zoe or a messy Zandra with a fussy Zoe. Yes! The messy Zabdra will end up with Mummy cleaning up her mess on the floor.Well, it took Zandra a while to learn how to feed herself with the spoon. Usually Zandra consume only 50% of the food though.

Now, she can control her fingers to grasp nicely on the spoon and put onto her mouth. Still, I'll help her to put food on her spoon, this will minimize wastage. So glad that Zandra can feed herself now~

Zandra Walking to Mummy

Today, when I reached home after work, Zandra welcomed me by walking to me with the doll pram steadily and confidently. Then Zoe came running and gave me a big HUG***It such a good welcome from my girls after a long day at home.

Zandra actually has learnt to walk by herself the past few days only. I'm sure Zoe has helped her little sister a lot by holding her hands patiently and leading her around the house. Learning from her big sister, Zandra has got the confidence in walking.

Well Done, ZANDRA!
