Zandra is 6 weeks old and time for the 2nd Hep B injection where the first was taken during birth. I was quite worried that Zandra will cry non-stop when taking injection which happened to Zoe when she was young. Zoe was wailing from doctor office was still crying at the waiting area. She really makes us felt sorry for her especially Gong Gong.
So, inside Dr Eric's office, I tried to ask all the queries about Zandra condition before the injection. But to our surprise Zandra did scream for a while when Dr Eric injected her but stopped and enjoy her rota virus medication; Zandra loves the taste of the rota virus medication. Even Dr Eric praised her as a good baby.
At 6 weeks, Zandra weighted 4.05kg, 54cm tall and 37.5cm head circumference. At times, Zandra smiles involuntarily but at the right time that is after meal and getting into her sweet dream sleeping mode. But she really makes us very touched when she smile to us when we talked to her. Look at the strength of a baby, just a smile - and it will brighten up your day!
Despite all the above, there's also challenges raising Zandra. At this stage, her colic condition may be worsten especially in the evening which already come true when yesterday
Daddy had a hard time getting Zandra to sleep. At 6am when my flu medication fade away, I was
able to take over from Daddy. It is then Zandra start letting out gas and can see that she is
uncomfortable. Instantly, I gave her the tummy massage and a dose of dentinox to soothe the
umcomfort.
Not only that, Dr Eric suspect that Zandra is allergic to cow's milk so we are observing the
condition. If worsen we may need to change to soy formula or else Zandra will grow out of it
when she is 6 months old. Hope that the allergic rashes will improve so that we don't need to change to soy formula which is difficult to find in the market.
